Edited Character Change rules. Basically, added penalties for death and suicide, and specified the conditions on swapping pokemon.
Also added a one-week grace period for people that, after creating their character, decide they don't quite like it, and want to change it. This is now possible!
For people that would've wanted this, and didn't get a chance before, we will allow free Retirement until October 12th. A thread will be opened in the Request Forum for this particular instance for anyone that wants to change their characters.
[Spoiler="Changing your Character"]In the event of death
If death is to occur, you will, of course, have to create a new character. This character will not, however, have to start from scratch [although if you want, they can.] They will keep your old character's rank but can change jobs [ex: old char: C-Rank Trainer, New character can be a C-Rank Trainer, Coordinator or Breeder].
In the event that you want your character to die
For whatever reason: martyrdom, or just to end a storyline, you may choose to have your character die. At the end of your post, simply add [Character is Dead] or [Suicide]. Penalties are a bit more severe in this case: you will drop a rank but can still change jobs and all Pokemon will lose 3 levels.
In the event you want to change your character...
If you have played the character for more than six months real time, you can "retire" a character and create a new one to switch them with. There are no penalties whatsoever for retiring a character.
In the event you want to rework your character
If for any reason, after creating your character, you decide that you don't like it, you're allowed a one-week grace period from your character creation to rework, alter, or completely change your character for another one. There are no penalties whatsoever for this, but it can only be done once.
Changing Pokemon
Upon changing your character, you can keep your current pokemon team, or you can exchange a pokemon for another, unevolved one with the same amount of egg cycles. For instance, you can exchange a Squirtle for an Ekans, as both have 21 egg cycles. Arbok, despite having 21 egg cycles as well, is not eligible, due to being an evolved form.
Stat Penalties
Regardless of whether or not you change pokemon, you must add up all your pokemon's base stats and substract the total base stats without modification (From Serebii, for instance), to get your pokemon's "Stat Pool".
If you're changing your character through retirement, there is no stat penalty.
If you're changing character because of death, there is a 20% stat penalty.
If you're changing your character because of suicide, there is a 40% stat penalty.
So if your stat pool is 200 and you're changing character because of suicide, you'd remove 80 points from your pool.
Once you've dealt with the penalties, you're free to distribute your pokemon's stat pool among its stats as you wish.
Note that the stat pool represents level-up and item bonuses, so if you change a pokemon, you add points to the new pokemon's base stats. The stat pool does NOT represent total stats, just bonuses to be redistributed.
Also note that all character changes will have to be posted in the Request Forum.[/spoiler]
