Coordinators
~-~

As stated earlier, a Coordinator focuses his or her Pokemon's talents on their inner and outer beauty, allowing them to shine with spectacular appeals during Pokemon Contests. Instead of battling, Coordinators truly prefer to showcase their Pokemons' talents in Pokemon Contests, although that's not to say that they cannot battle either.
They collect ribbons upon emerging victorious from Contests.
Trainers
~-~

As stated earlier, a Trainer has their sights set on defeating the Eight Gym Leaders scattered around Hyren Island and collecting their badges to eventually reach the Twilight League. They train their Pokemon in large numbers, establishing bonds with each and every one of them.
Breeders
~-~

As mentioned earlier, Breeders hatch Pokemon and treat them as family, almost as equals. To them, Pokemon are people, their closest friends while also being their pets and their responsibility. They often hatch their Pokemon from eggs, although it's not necessary.
They compete in challenges run by the Council of Thirteen, the Survival Challenges, in order to receive
Medals. Survival Challenges test the bonds between Breeders and their Pokemon.
Team RSERescue, Search and Exploration
~-~

Team RSE is the Special Ops unit of Hyren, being formed of only skilled and battle-hardened trainers, coordinators and breeders. Their numbers are not many, yet people can be recruited for more than simple brute strength. Be it amazing intelligence, the ability to use resources to their advantage, courage, or anything else that may aid in Search, Rescue and Exploration missions.

Moving up the ranks is simple. There are basically three steps to it.
Tasks
Each rank has a requirement of normal tasks that need to be completed before you can apply for Rank-Up.
Elite Tasks
Ranks from B to S have a requirement of Elite Tasks, tasks a level higher in difficulty than the rank they usually take.
Rank Exam
Once you've completed the prior requirements you can request an Exam Thread be opened for you. It will consist of both a written test, measuring your knowledge and analytic capability, and a practical test, consisting of a simulation of a previous RSE mission. Pass this, and you'll be automatically added to the corresponding rank's group.
Rank exams are initiated just like a regular task request. Before a Rank Exam can start, the person in question
must leave all of their current threads.

At Hyren, Pokemon have an "experience pool". The experience pool is equivalent to their current level times 3, so if a Pokemon is level 7, their exp. pool is 21. Here is how experience is gained:
- Defeating a Pokemon: Upon defeating a Wild Pokemon, you gain exp equivalent to their level x1.25. Upon defeating a Trainer Pokemon, you gain exp equivalent to their level x 1.75.
- Accomplishing tasks. After a task is completed, a award moderator will give you some experience to to some pre-determined Pokemon.
- Winning Contests, Gym Battles and Breeder Challenges: Each participating Pokemon will gain some exp.
- Any battle during Contests and Gym battles and other Tasks give x2 EXP
When the number of experience in one's EXP pool is superior to the total EXP it can contain [15 exp when a pool can only contain 14], the Pokemon will level up and all additional Exp will be retained. [The 1 extra point still exists]
Note that if more than one Pokemon participates in a single battle, and, after defeating the enemy, at least two of them are still not-fainted, experience will be divided evenly amongst any Pokemon that so much as appeared during the fight.
When you level up you receive 10 stat points that you can distribute however you like amongst your 6 stats: Base HP, Speed, Attack, Defence, Sp. Defence and Sp. Attack.

On Hyren, there are two different sets of stats because of the nature of the Pokemon on the island. The first set of stats are the Base Stats, stats under the normal conditions from the other regions [i.e Kanto, Johto, etc.]. The second set of stats are called Hyren Stats, the altered base stats that are the current normal for the Pokemon that have adapted to the environment at Hyren.
Both will be provided during a Pokemon Encounter and both
must be put into all Profiles upon the creation of a Pokemon entry. The stats that will change upon leveling up are the
Hyren Stats and this is what the Moderators will use for battles so it is
must for these stats to be in the Profiles.

On Hyren, there are Gyms [for Trainers] Contests [For Coordinators] and Survival Challenges [Breeders].
Gyms yield
badges upon defeat of the Leader. A Gym battle will take place in a
Hidden Gym that is concealed somewhere in the Wilderness. The battle's intensity depends on the number and level of your own Pokemon.
Contests yield
ribbons upon emerging victorious. Contests take place in
Hidden Halls, concealed within the Wilderness. The difficulty of the contest rests on the amount of contests you have previously won and your current skill level.
Survival Challenges yield
medals upon emerging victorious. Survival Challenges take place in areas of the Wilderness. The difficulty of the contest rests on the amount of challenges you have previously completed and your current skill level. In order to succeed, you must work alongside your Pokemon to survive obstacles thrown at you by members of the Council of Thirteen.
---
Now you're thinking "but they're HIDDEN how can I find them" [Gyms/Contests]. Exactly- you have to search for them. It's not that difficult- simply say "searching X sub-area for hall/gym", and an RPG mod will mod you and tell you if you've found anything. If so, you may challenge the leader/contest.
Breeder Challenges are a bit trickier to initiate- within Breeder Central, you must post a "Challenge Request" much like you would post a task request and you will be modded accordingly.
In addition, occasionally Leaders or Council members will seek you out, or find you and invite you to a challenge, although this happens rarely.
3.2.1 Rewards:Hyren's badges, ribbons and medals are all close to nature- florally inspired. They are symbolized as follows.

Chrysanthemum

Tulip

Marigold

Bellflower

Valley Lily

Camellia

Iris

Strelitzia
Gyms, Contests and Challenges can occur in ANY order! They will be modified to suit your current level and Pokemon.
Have fun...
You can have a maximum of 6 Pokemon on your team at once, while the rest are stored in the PokePhone [read on]

During battles with RP Pokemon, you can use Pokeballs to attempt to catch them. Pokeballs are purchased beforehand and it is entirely up to the mod if the Pokemon is caught or not. If it is, the mod will tell you its attacks and base stats. Pokeballs cost 10 EN to use in-battle.
If a Pokemon is weakened and /or afflicted with a status condition, odds of it being caught are raised.
If a Pokemon has fainted, the Pokemon will be caught.

You are allowed to keep a "Target Pokemon" in your sig. Depending on the rarity of the pokemon and the area you're in, there will be a chance of encountering it ranging from 0% to 20%. You can only have one target pokemon at a time and you can change it once every three days.

This contraption, created by The Violet Lady [Hyren's leading scientist], has many functions. It looks, at first glance, like the average flip-top cellphone available in any hue that you may desire. What separates it from other phones is its myriad of functions or applications, or shortened to "apps". Upon receiving it, there are four "apps" available:
-
PokeDex : A digital encyclopedia that records data on Pokemon you've seen or caught.
-
Pokemon Storage : Your Pokemon will be stored digitally within the phone immediately after you have 6 on your team. They can be swapped out at any time that is NOT a battle.
-
Marketplace Access : You can essentially shop on your phone and purchase any items you like. Items can be purchased at any time that is not a battle.
-
Bank Account : All of your money is also stored digitally, and all transactions are equally digital.
-
Basic Phone Functions: It's a phone. It can call other people and take incredibly low-quality pictures. These functions can of course be upgraded.

PokePhone applications, add-ons or "apps" are upgrades to the basic phone that can get you out of a sticky situation or make certain tasks simpler. They, however, exceed the amount of space available on the phone itself, therefore it is mandatory to purchase external
memory cards, that slide into the phone, to store these apps.
In your profile, list the memory card you bought along with all the apps on it. Certain apps take more space than others. Read the shop description carefully.
All apps and memory cards can be purchased in the "UpGrade" shop.
Here are some
recommended apps:- TaskFeed: Allows you to view, receive and accept tasks from a distance, say, the Wilderness.
- PokeCenterConnect: Allows you to heal your Pokemon to 1/2 their total health straight from your PokePhone.
There are many more, so explore! Apps will constantly be added, so check back in periodically.

Like in the Pokemon games, if all of your Pokemon on your party have fainted, then you will automatically "white out" and reappear in the
PokeCenter, found by Metro Scouts. No metro threads are necessary, however your old adventure thread will be locked. You will not take any penalties.

Given Hyren's nature of being an incredibly dangerous island ridden with natural phenomena that are less than kind, odds of dying are always present. Of course, the Weather Center's watchful eye serves the sole purpose of making sure death does NOT occur, but sometimes people will venture to places where they shouldn't and will be at death's door.
When traveling to a place where travel is safe [green], there is no chance of death unless you choose to let your character die [fall off a cliff etc], which will be covered in "suicide" later on.
When traveling to a place where travel is dangerous but not forbidden [yellow], there is a varying chance of death that is decided by the RPG mod. He or she will roll dice and determine whether or not you are safe. In the event that you are not safe they will enter your thread and warn you that something dangerous is happening. Your next post MUST be one returning to the plateau in all haste or else you will die. Consider it a warning post.
While the metro will certainly not take you there, if you manage to find a way to get to a Quarantined [Red] or Forbidden [Orange] area, the same dice-rolling process will occur. This time, however,
there is no warning. The dice will determine your life's outcome and you will die.
DO NOT WORRY. Death is not the end of the game. Keep on reading, please.
In the event of deathIf death is to occur, you will, of course, have to create a new character. This character will not, however, have to start from scratch [although if you want, they can.] They will keep your old character's rank but can change jobs [ex: old char: C-Rank Trainer, New character can be a C-Rank Trainer, Coordinator or Breeder].
In the event that you want your character to dieFor whatever reason: martyrdom, or just to end a storyline, you may choose to have your character die. At the end of your post, simply add [Character is Dead] or [Suicide]. Penalties are a bit more severe in this case: you will drop a rank but can still change jobs and all Pokemon will lose 3 levels.
In the event you want to change your character...If you have played the character for more than six months real time, you can "retire" a character and create a new one to switch them with. There are no penalties whatsoever for retiring a character.
In the event you want to rework your characterIf for any reason, after creating your character, you decide that you don't like it, you're allowed a one-week grace period from your character creation to rework, alter, or completely change your character for another one. There are no penalties whatsoever for this, but it can only be done once.
Changing PokemonUpon changing your character, you can keep your current pokemon team, or you can exchange a pokemon for another, unevolved one with the same amount of egg cycles. For instance, you can exchange a Squirtle for an Ekans, as both have 21 egg cycles. Arbok, despite having 21 egg cycles as well, is not eligible, due to being an evolved form.
Stat PenaltiesRegardless of whether or not you change pokemon, you must add up all your pokemon's base stats and substract the total base stats without modification (From Serebii, for instance), to get your pokemon's "Stat Pool".
If you're changing your character through retirement, there is no stat penalty.
If you're changing character because of death, there is a 20% stat penalty.
If you're changing your character because of suicide, there is a 40% stat penalty.
So if your stat pool is 200 and you're changing character because of suicide, you'd remove 80 points from your pool.
Once you've dealt with the penalties, you're free to distribute your pokemon's stat pool among its stats as you wish.
Note that the stat pool represents level-up and item bonuses, so if you change a pokemon, you add points to the new pokemon's base stats. The stat pool does NOT represent total stats, just bonuses to be redistributed.
Also note that all character changes will have to be posted in the Request Forum.

Since you can RP in more than one thread at once, certain events may occur in one thread that would potentially affect the life of your character, such as capturing a Pokémon. Nevertheless, in all of the threads that you started BEFORE the Pokémon was caught, you do not magically possess that Pokemon all of a sudden, but in all threads started after that Pokemon's capture, you do.

Eggs can be received in a myriad of methods, but once one is received, it
must remain with the Trainer/CoOrdinator/Breeder in question as Eggs are non-transferable to the PokePhone. 30 IC, RPG-related posts later, you may inform the RPG mod that your egg should hatch. It will hatch into a basic [non-evolved, non-legendary] level 1 Pokemon. If its parents are known, it will hatch into a Pokemon consequently. If its parents are unknown, it will be entirely random.

The Daycare frequently has eggs up for adoption. These eggs may be adopted by any C-Rank and above and, unless explicitly stated, their parents are unknown.

In the Video Games, evolution serves one purpose: to increase a Pokemon's stats to make it superior to its old form. Indeed, every time a Pokemon evolves, it receives extra stat points according to the
Level it Evolved At. It will receive stat points in EVERY stat equivalent to LevelOfEvolution*2
With Pokemon that evolve via non-straightforward methods, such as via Stones or Trading, the process is the same- however, if the level is over 50, it will be counted as though they evolved at level 50.
